Batman Arkham Asylum: Demo
by admin on Jun.25, 2009, under Upcoming Games

I have recently played the demo for this game and let me tell you that this game is fun. The demo consisted of one on ten combat. It was very entertaining to move around and attack multiple enemies as Batman. I would love to play the actual game where you get to sneak around the level and take people out, but I haven’t done that yet. The combat is not difficult at all. It’s pick up and play really. The buttons are basic and it’s more about timing than anything. The best challenge you can give yourself is to try not to get hit the entire time. Well, of course you don’t want to get hit because you’ll fail, but you get what I’m saying. I hear that this is one of the most anticipated games of 2009 and with good reason because it’s awesome. Here is the demo of the gameplay in action.
Here’s A Tip For You
by admin on Jun.22, 2009, under Gaming Tips
I know I really don’t have to say this but I’ll say it anyway. Get outside. Life is not all about videogames. You have to have a good balance of outdoors activities and videogames. Sure, all the time you spend on one particular game may allow you to become very skilled in it. But that skill will not benefit you much in life.
I play games but I also love to play basketball and swim in the pool when it gets hot down here in Florida. I know you’ve heard this before, probably from your parents, but I’m here to tell you again. Time is our most precious resource, don’t waste it on anything that doesn’t make you or others happy. That’s all I wanted to say today. Have a nice day.
NBA LIVE ‘09: Sprite Machine Code
by admin on Jun.15, 2009, under Gaming Tips
When you first begin the game, right before you get to the Main Menu. There is a place where you can just shoot around and get a feel for the game. I call this the gym for beginners because they will spend much of their time there. Anyway, there is a Sprite soda machine near the top basket on the east court. You must go up to it and press the X button because the X button will highlight above the machine when you get near to it. That will take you to a word input screen. The code you have to enter there is “spriteslam.” That will unlock high flying dunks whenever you drive to the basket. The dunks are more spectacular. It makes a large difference. Steve Nash made a dunk.
MAKE GOOD MONEY AS A GAME TESTER
by admin on Jun.14, 2009, under Game Reviews
There is actually a place where you can go that they actually give you tons of info if you are interested in a career in games. Game testing to be specific. As a game tester you will do things such as test new video games, get to know all the secrets of a game, get free copies of games, and the best one I think is that you’ll get your foot in the door of the industry if you’re aspiring for a career in the gaming industry. What could be better? I mean they give you automatic updates on whenever a position is available that you may be interested in. They help you with everything. I am still getting e-mails on game offers as they come along. I can’t believe you can make money playing videogames all day and they pay you well for it. Have a look here at Gamer Testing Grounds. If you’ve ever wondered if you can make a career in videogames, let them show you the way. It’s great.

WANTED: WEAPONS OF FATE
by admin on Jun.14, 2009, under Game Reviews
My review for this game is going to be short. Imagine you are on a plane that is falling at 15,000 ft and counting. You are trying to kill badguys simultaneously. While the plane is falling. You are shooting bad guys. Also imagine that you are hiding 100 ft away around the corner. The enemy thinks you cannot see him. You have a suprise for him because you curve that bullet and it’s a direct hit.
That’s Wanted: Weapons of Fate. This is a game whose storyline doesn’t follow the movie but rather continues upon it directly after the movie ends. Takes you into a different direction that involves Wesley’s mother. You also get to play as Wesley’s father Cross during the game also. But most of the game is cover based. It’s fun and all it has its moments. For fun what I do is run through the level as quickly as I can and seeing if I can beat my time. So, yeah that’s the most fun you’ll probably have with this game after you’ve beaten it 6 times like I did. You also use a bunch of cheats. That’s always fun. This is just another cliche’ bad game based upon a movie. You know what they did do the curving bullets right though. They didn’t screw that up at least.

I have one thing to say. This game is fun but it does get repetitive after awhile. Noone prepares you for what is to come. That’s why I’m here to tell you that this game is not really worth it rather you should just rent it from Gamefly and save money. That’s why I’m here, to tell you all of these things. Listen up okay. Get it from Gamefly and play it through and be done with it so you can satisfy your curiosity because I know you’re curious. but I wouldn’t recommended buying it. 5 hours? Come on.
Have A Nice Day.
NBA LIVE ‘09
by admin on Jun.12, 2009, under Game Reviews
Jack is someone who doesn’t play sports games and is curious of what they’re about.
Arny is an avid sports gamer who plays NBA LIVE ‘09 for the PS3 frequently.
Let’s check out their conversation.
Jack: Hey, Whatsup Arny?
Arny: Oh Whatsup Jack, how’s that controller doing since we last played.
Jack: Well, I am losing every game because of it, I just may have to get a new one.
Arny: Well just get a controller from Gameshark and some other accessories to improve the performance of your console while you’re there.
Jack: You know what? That is a great suggestion. I’ll do it tonight. Hey, don’t you play NBA LIVE?
Arny: Sure do. I am playing that game almost daily now.
Jack: Can you tell me a bit about it?
Arny: Sure, what do you want to know?
Jack: Well for starters, who is that gentleman on the cover?

Arny: That’s Tony Parker. He plays for the San Antonio Spurs and he’s also from France.
Jack: France, that’s pretty cool. Basketball truly is worldwide. How many different modes are in the game?
Arny: There’s Dynasty mode for starters where you can become the GM of an NBA team and manage every aspect of the team and all of the staff as well. There’s also NBA All-Star Weekend that features the slam dunk contest, 3-point shootout, rookie challenge, and the NBA All-Star game. They also have this feature known as NBA LIVE 365 that updates player DNA(the tendencies of a player in certain situations), and also updates rosters. The players DNA is uploaded by EA Sports and the player plays like he did the night before as do the rest of the team.

Jack: That’s all great, but what if you do not know how to play basketball like me?
Arny: Yeah man you are pretty pitiful. That’s why they have this new mode known as NBA LIVE Academy that teaches you in all aspects of the game. They run you through the basics first and then the more advanced things. Even if you know how to play basketball already it’s still fun doing all of the drills.
Jack: The game must have a good visual look to it right?
Arny: Yes it does have a good visual look to it, but sometimes the game messes all of that up. Sometimes players move through other players. They dunk from behind the backboard, and sometimes when it looks as if someone stepped out of bounds when they really didn’t, that is actually frustrating.
Jack: Overall though you think it is a good game right?
Arny: Oh yes I do. It is a very worthwhile game to have if you’re an NBA fan.
Jack: That settles it, I’m getting NBA LIVE ‘09 the next time I go to the store.
Arny: Yeah and be sure to invite me over so I can demolish you with the Orlando Magic.
Jack: Yeah okay, whatever. Bye
Arny: Bye
X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE
by admin on Jun.12, 2009, under Game Reviews
Oh shucks here we go again another awful game based on a movie. They always release them close to each other. The jokes are ready, we’ve already braced ourselves for the disappointment. The legacy of Wolverine based games is not good at all. But, this one is different. It definitely takes the cake and shoves it somewhere not so appetizing. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a very good game. Right down to Wolverine’s adamantium spine. It loosely follows the storyline of the movie in the fact that it takes key events and mixes them up with an original story. You are dealing with flashbacks for the first part of the story mainly and throughout the game actually.
All of the past Wolverine games and X-Men games that have been released have been pretty lacking in the gore department. WTF! This is one of the most graphically violent games I’ve ever seen. This is truly the vision of Wolverine that everyone had in their heads, but never did anything with it. Thank you Activision and Raven Software for opening our eyes. I mean the opening cinematic prepares you for what is to come. Claws through the head, impalements, skewering, helicopter blade decapitations, kill someone with their own weapon, it’s all there. It’s ridiculous. Ridiculously awesome.

Controlling Wolverine is straightforward. You have light and heavy attacks. The game has combos that you can pull off, but you can pretty much get away with mixing up the light and heavy buttons and make it through the entire game without knowing a single combo. The game also has a lunge function that allows you to leap long distances in order to close distance on your targets. Another awesome feature is the fact that when Wolverine becomes damaged overtime you can see all of his adamantium exposed right down to the bone. Sometimes you can see straight through him. On top of that, Wolverine heals in real time and you can sit there and watch him regenerate. Wolverine’s foes aren’t exempt from this cool little detail one bit. Also, something that I think is very cool is the quick kill feature that lets you grapple an enemy and finish him off in a gory fashion. Such as, ripping him in two, ripping his skull out, hoisting him and stabbing at him in the air, and all sorts of other things.
There is not much stealth associated with this game. It’s mainly about all out brawling. Does that sound repetitive to you? Well it is, but this is fun because you can kill enemies different ways everytime. It doesn’t really have any replay value except to unlock all of the various upgrades Wolverine can acquire throughout the course of the game. You can play it until the wheels fall off and you probably will. Story is not worthwhile just watch the movie, gameplay is repetetive but loads of fun, customize Wolverine to be the ultimate killing machine. Yeah this game is good.
