The Witch Description

The Witch has greyish skin. On first glance, she might appear similar to common infected on first glance. On closer inspection you will notice her long claws and glowing red eyes. in absolute darkness she radiates red which making her completely visable in low light conditions. She is mostly grey and her claws are red likely from her victims’ blood. At night, she is often moaning for some unknown reason in a sort of kneeling position. Her top is very torn up and has more than its fair share of stains. Her bottom has panties as far as clothes go also in the dirty and stained color. The Witch Information

The Witch is a very dangerous, but unique special infected in Left 4 Dead. The Witch sits and crys at night unless alerted by flashlights, loud noises, damage, or close proximity. Survivors in which case startle her when she is at the final stage of aggravation.. This animation usually includes a standing up before this happens and much more irritated noises from the Witch. When disturbed, the witch sprints to take out whoever disturbed her. The witch has an uncanny ability to incapacitate any survivor she manages to initially hit on easy through advanced difficulty. On expert difficulty, she kills the unlucky or stupid survivor. An unsuspecting witch can be stunned with the sniper rifle, pipebombs, propane, and oxygen tanks. A stunned witch can be melee-ed but a disturbed witch cannot. A Pump Shotgun or a Automatic Shotgun can kill a witch even on expert, if all the pellets connect on her head. On easy, cr0wning is much easier. The best method to crown her is approach her in front with your flashlight off and wait for her to stand up aim your shotgun were her head will be and fire right as she stands up into it, This must be done quickly as she will attack shortly after.

The automatic shotgun and/or pump shotgun can cr0wn the witch despite naysayers even on expert. However the method changes a little between normal and advanced difficulty. On easy & normal the best method to take her out is to shoot her at her backside at point blank. On expert you have to shoot her in the upper part of her skull and make all pellets connect there as well.
Stun The Witch

The Propane Tank has a very interesting ability when shot in very close proximity near the witch. As long as you don’t miss and shoot her instead. When Shot in this situation the propane tank will explode and the witch will be stunned for a few seconds. A stunned witch can have the stun extended by meleeing her ,this can last indefinitely. When you have reached the witch, you can shoot her inbetween meleeing her to eventually kill the witch. hunting rifle shot to the head, Oxygen Tank (s), Propane Tanks (s), And pipebombs can all do this in a similar fashion. Additionally the witch needs to be idle when you attempt this.

The survivors leave the Subway and pass a gas station and head deeper into the sewers of the city. They follow the sewers until it leads them under Mercy Hospital. After the long battles in the city’s sewers the survivors only find that mercy hospital has been overrun. Going on faith alone the survivors fight their way through multiple levels of the sky scraper hospital known as Mercy Hospital until they reach a elevator that takes them a breath away from the still under construction rooftop. The Survivors reach the rooftop to find a radio is still intact with the channel 5 news helicopter pilot is still radioing for any survivors that made it to Mercy Hospital. The Rescuing Helicopter alerts a large portion of the hoard to mercy hospital the survivors hold out until he arrives after a ” incident ” that caused him to be a little delayed.

No Mercy Safe Area

After spotting the News Channel 5 Chopper the survivors start in the No Mercy safe area. It has four medical kits and the starting tier 1 primary weapons. This area has two main path for survivors to take the first being a door with stairs , the second breaking a window and jumping into the room below.

Two Paths

The path from the stairs will lead your through a kitchen. The path through the window will drop you into a bedroom. Both are fairly close to the same area although the window is slightly closer to the owl themed bathroom that should be checked for supplies.

Owl Themed Bathroom

This bathroom in No Mercy has a picture of a owl hanging from the wall. This bathroom can have supplies in it, making it worthwhile to check out. After you check this room head downstairs.

Stairs and the Hallway

The stairs is a great place to hold out if the horde decides to attack when you are near this area. Head back to the stairs in situations like this and have two survivors guard each entrance of this area until things cool off. After the stairs in the hallway you will see a few rooms off on your left be sure to check them for supplies.

The Hole

After you you go through the damaged section in the wall after the hallway you will encounter a room with a large hole to the first floor of the apartments. Before you go down check the room directly behind the hole for supplies. All survivors should go down the hole together otherwise a lone survivor or two can have little chance of salvation if a hunter pounces them or a smoker pulls them away from the hole with the rest of the survivors on the first floor. If this occurs to you or a team member, it is possible to penetrate the wood floor and save that survivor if the infected is killed before incapping them. After you pass the hole you might have access on a breakable wall that is to the right, that the infected can destroy or the mailing room. Before taking either paths, be sure to check the bathrooms directly below the hole, as they may contain supplies.

1st floor storage room

After the mailing room or the hole made by the infected, you may pass a storage room worth checking for supplies, be sure to check it before heading into the alleyway.

Alleyway storage Room

After heading out into the alley it will open up a bit on your left side, you will notice a grey door hiding near a busted grey automobile, be sure to check it for supplies if needed. Also check every car, for a chance of your second pistol.

Cop Car & Bench

Always check the hood of the cop car after the alleyway for a chance at for another pistol to complete your twin pistol set. If the Twin Pistol isn’t on the hood of the cop car check the bench near it. These are some of the most likely places to pick up the twin pistols for the apartments.

Medical Pit Stop

Around the cop car and bench, you will notice a gray door near a Blood Donation advertisement. Enter the building and go to the first room on the right. If your health is low , you might want to check this room for pills or a health-kit.

Optional Crescendo: Car Alarm

No matter which path you take to get to the subway, you will have to pass a blinking red car equipped with a working alarm system. If you need to shoot anything close to the car for any reason make sure you are a long distance away. The crescendo seems to require a certain level of proxcimity for it to go off even if shot. Beware of smokers baiting survivors to shoot the car by dragging a survivor towards it. Proceed into the subway following the safe house graffiti on the entrance.

Table Check & Safe House.

After heading down the stairs you should see a the safe room on the right. If you haven’t found your twin pistol yet, be sure to check the large grey tables near the safe house before proceeding to the subway safehouse.
